The Pokemon Go craze may be slowing down for some, but Guillermo A. Cava-Nunez still finds time to fit it in, between drug sales.
Herald Tribune reports that Cava-Nunez, 20, is accused of possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana (hash oil), possession of Xanax with intent to sell, and possession of marijuana. He is being held at the Sarasota County jail on bonds totaling $11,500.
According to statements, law enforcement approached Cava-Nunez in his parked car at Ufer Park in at 12:24 a.m., after the park’s normal hours of operation. While explaining he didn’t know the park was closed and he was waiting for his girlfriend to arrive to play Pokémon Go, the deputy said he smelled marijuana and asked if he had anything illegal in the car. After initially denying, Cava-Nunez exited the vehicle and deputies found the following:
Three baggies of marijuana, two bags of Xanax, extra baggies, a scale, and two bags designated as hash oil inside a black brief case on the passenger floor board.
In the back seat, deputies found a back pack with two plastic containers to hold the hash oil, and a utensil to “dab it out,” the report said. Two other plastic containers were marked “Canna Medical Edibles” and “Cannabliss Co. Prem Nug Shatter.”
A rolled up baggie of a powdery substance, later confirmed as cocaine, was found in Cava-Nunez’s wallet. Rolling papers were found in his shorts pocket.
Cava-Nunez did not confirm if all the paraphernalia was required for a maximum Pokémon go experience. Since the arrest, Cava-Nunez is still in police custody.
