James Rodriguez is unavailable to participate with the National Colombian team and one fan took it way too far on Twitter. This fan tweeted out a threat towards Rodriguez’s family.
Sports fans take things to the extreme at times especially when the occasion doesn’t even call for it. James Rodriguez gained a lot of popularity during the 2014 World Cup as he played for his home country, Colombia. The star soccer player is now facing an unfortunate injury that forced him to pull out of a game against Uruguay that happens to be a World Cup qualifying game.
The Twitter account is said to have originated from Buenos Aires, Argentina and the message in Spanish translates as such:
“I am traveling to your home, armed, say goodbye to everything you love.”
In addition, there was a hashtag that illustrated the disappointment fans had, #JamesVerguenzaNational which means, James National Embarrassment.
Good thing his mom put this complaint out there as she reached out to police. Death threats are no joke and as usual, these teams don’t pay you royalties. It’s never that serious but it’s clear that Rodriguez has a positive outlook since he shared this on his Twitter.
