The LAPD was alerted Wednesday morning around 6am PST that Donald Trump’s star on the Walk of Fame had been vandalized. The incident is under investigation with no suspects in custody although a video has been obtained.
In a video received by Deadline, a man dressed as a construction worker proceeds to smash into the star with a sledgehammer and a pickaxe. The suspect informed Deadline that he had intended to auction off the star and give the proceeds to the women who have come forward as victims of sexual abuse at the hands of the Republican presidential candidate.
This incident isn’t the first case of vandalism since Trump began campaigning for Commander-in-Chief. Back in January of this year, it was vandalized with a swastika. Then in July, artist Plastic Jesus constructed a small wall around the emblem. The damage was more extensive this time around and comes just 2 weeks ahead of Election Day.
