The “Shattered Backboard” hype is back again. Back in the summer of 2015, Jordan Brand released a limited colorway of the Air Jordan 1 commemorating Michael Jordan shattering the backboard in an exhibition game in Italy back in 1985.
Called the “Shattered Backboard,” it was a colorway many sneaker enthusiasts fell in love with. Not only was the color combination on point, the quality on the shoe is probably the best Jordan Brand has to date on any sneaker since they began “remastering” their products in 2015.
Now we have a new rendition of the colorway this year, and it fits perfectly in time for the fall and October weather. Called the “Shattered Backboard Away,” it’s a similar colorway to the OG, but with slight variations.
The shoe will release at select Jordan Brand retailers on Saturday, October 8 at 10 a.m. EST. The shoe will retail for $160, and is already going for around $300+ on the after market.
The shoe will limited both in stores and online. Only a few retailers will be carrying them online. Are you looking to cop? We got you covered with early links to the retailers that will be releasing them online on Saturday morning.
Good luck copping!
