It feels like Manu Ginobili has been around forever. Well, it’s because he has. With the 2016-2017 NBA campaign underway, Ginobili is in his 15th season. At the age of 39, many believed Ginobili was going to call it quits, but he still believes there’s a little left in the tank.
However, Ginobili suffered a very gruesome injury last season. During a regular season against New Orleans in February, Ryan Anderson kneed Ginobili in the groin, which resulted in him needing testicular surgery.
Ginobili recently spoke on the injury.
“I gave my right one,” Ginobili told News 4’s Don Harris. “I gave it all, I gave it all. I gave my right one for the Spurs, I can say it, I can really say it. It’s true.”
He’s talking about giving his right testicle to the Spurs. Nonetheless, he was laughing when describing this, so we’re going to assume he was joking.
At least we hope.
