The Black Lives Matter movement has opened much needed dialogue between Black communities and law enforcement. Over time it’s ballooned and higher profile people like The Game and Carmelo Anthony have reached out to have discussions with cops about their policies.
Now more teams are taking this approach and talking with law enforcement in their respective cities like the Seattle Seahawks and now the Washington Redskins.
NBC Washington reports that law enforcement leaders met with a few Redskins players to talk about police brutality and Black Lives Matter.
A few Redskins players have been vocal about police brutality and protesting the national anthem such as DeSean Jackson.
Having athletes in this discussion is critical but meeting with law enforcement seems empty.
