Derek Carr has saved the family name, and now he’s reportedly on the verge of landing a huge contract extension with the Oakland Raiders.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Raiders’ top priority after this season is to lock Carr up to an extension that would be similar or rival the deal quarterback Andrew Luck signed this offseason (five years, $123 million) with Indianapolis.
Carr, a second-round pick out of Fresno State in 2014, is currently an MVP candidate — completing 66.3 percent of his passes for 2,321 yards, 17 touchdowns and three interceptions.
Carr has one-year left on his rookie deal.
