This has actually been going on for a while and I’m in total agreement with Richard Sherman of the Seahawks on this one.
The NFL just isn’t as entertaining as it use to be. Yes, they are still putting on great physical matchups but the league was much more fun when I ran to the TV to see how Ocho Cinco would dance after scoring a touchdown or watching Terrell Owens run to the 50 yard line after his score. Those days are long gone and Richard Sherman blames NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodell for it. According to ProFootballTalk.com Sherman says ratings are down because the NFL isn’t entertaining.
“This isn’t entertaining, and there are no longer allowing the players to entertain…to show any kind of personality, any kind of uniqueness, any individuality.”
It really seems like Goodell wants a field full of robots and nothing about that is exciting.
Sherman added that he feels Rodger Goodell “has not done a great job, and it’s obvious.” He’s also a bit upset that the NFL continues to make rules that make it harder to play defense.
