A 57-year-old overweight White man got out of his car and assaulted a 15-year-old autistic teen because he thought the teen who was in track gear, with no weapons and not making any threats towards him was going to rob him.
Just let that sink into your brain for a minute while you read the full story.
The man accused of attacking 15-year-old runner Chase Coleman during a cross country race in Rochester later told police he was “very sorry” after being informed that the teen had autism and was non-verbal, according to a newly released police report.
Martin MacDonald, 57, of Pittsford, admitted shoving Coleman to the ground because he thought the teen was “mocking him” and because he feared Coleman was going to “mug his wife and take her purse,” according to the report. But MacDonald also apologized after learning that Coleman has autism.
He’s only sorry because he was arrested, he isn’t sorry for being a racist.
