Bryce Petty has been waiting for a long time and the last four games of the season will be a huge test for the young quarterback. Brandon Marshall offered a critique on Petty.
The day didn’t go quite as planned. The Jets are trying to avoid being at the bottom of the barrel as they visited the 49ers. Todd Bowles named Bryce Petty as the starting quarterback for the remainder of the season. Petty has four games to prove himself and yesterday’s game wasn’t all that bad. Although Petty was sacked a few times, his spirit wasn’t as the Jets came back to win it all in overtime and thus, produced his first career win.
Brandon Marshall spoke about Petty’s efforts and kept it real.
I’m not going to say that he went out there and played lights-out or that he played at the level a top-tier guy would play at. This is his second start and his second year,” Marshall continued, providing proper context. “He made the plays that he’s supposed to. That two-point conversion was something special. That shows you the type of guy that he is. He’s fiery and will give you everything he’s got.
Petty has got a lot to learn considering the fact that his first pass was interception but he overcame it.
The Jets face the Dolphins on Saturday December 17 as Petty gets another shot to show us what he’s got. Perhaps he might surprise everyone and throw a couple of touchdowns.
