The details behind this home attack will make you shutter but thankfully tennis player Petra Kvitova is okay after getting stabbed in her home by a thief who was posing as a gas man.
As a kid, our parents use to tell us to be careful about opening the doors to strangers unless they were certain individuals. We trust the uniforms but at times, those are just people posing. That is what happened to Petra Kvitova. Kvitova was unfortunately stabbed in her left hand, which happens to be her playing hand, by a man who was posing as the gas man. This sounds like it was a planned attack considering they went for the money maker. She is lucky to be alive because she has shared details that the burglar held the knife up to her throat. She was also tweeting about it.
According to Ornstein, the burglar held a knife to Kvitova’s throat when a struggle began in the bathroom. Kvitova reportedly suffered lacerations to four fingers on her left hand, when the burglar ran and the police were called.
Ornstein reports that Kvitova is undergoing “potentially career-saving” surgery.
Tejkal said Kvitova has been treated by a doctor and the injuries aren’t considered life-threatening.
Here are her tweets.
