Professional athletes rarely get the chance to be a fan, but when an injury occurs and forces you to sit out, it might be a good time to take advantage.
Earl Thomas was sidelined for an injury, but instead of being with his team on the field, he decided to become a member of the “12” and join them at a bar with his family. But, Thomas didn’t show up as himself, he used a little disguise to blend in more with the crowd.
“I was into it,” he told The Seattle Times. “You can’t be silent. You can’t hide when you are openly passionate about something like this. People knew who I was but they kind of let me be. But it was definitely hard watching it.”
“I knew I was trying to make it back for this week,” he said. “So it helps to be back out there. Was just definitely just weird for me to see the team out there without me. I know it’s not all about me, but I’m a part of the team, so it was definitely weird to see that.”
Sadly for fans, Thomas won’t be able to join them at the bar because he’s expected to play this Sunday against the Panthers. Wonder if BWW let him press the “button”?
