The Cowboys beat the Lions last night on Monday Night Football. During the third quarter, Cowboys running back Zeke Elliott was body slammed WWE style by Lions defensive tackle A’Shawm Robinson. He received a penalty for unnecessary roughness.
Elliott seems to think there was motivation behind the wrestling style takedown. According to SportsDay, Elliott says the “beef” goes back to college, saying:
He was being dirty all game long. I think he’s just a little bit salty from that Sugar Bowl win we got against them in New Orleans two years ago. It’s whatever. Let him do what he wants to do.
Zeke is a Buckeye, and Robinson played for the Crimson Tide. In 2015, the Buckeyes beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl on their way to a National title. Seems like Robinson is still salty, according to Zeke.
Football is a violent game with lots of testosterone and emotions flying around. Whether or not, this has to do with a college beef is irrelevant. This was a good answer by Zeke. The young man knows how to deal with the media.
