Something magical is happening to the Raiders this season and we can hardly contain ourselves. However, one big boo-boo by NBC’s Spider cam may be the culprit during last night’s Raiders-Chiefs game.
In what was a very decisive and important game has resulted in a tie for first place in the AFC West between both the Raiders and the Chiefs. Derek Carr was impressive in the 4th quarter even though it wasn’t enough to win the game. Carr managed to swift through the Chiefs’ defense and expected to get his pass to Amari Cooper but that didn’t go as planned due to NBC’s Spider cam interrupting the pass.
As you can tell, the camera is super low and may have played a key detail in regards to the Raiders’ home field advantage for the playoffs.
The ball certainly appears to slightly change its path and does not stay in a spiral. You can see the moment where Cooper looks like he is running and tracking the ball, then throws his hands out and alters his run.
Cooper did not specifically mention a wire (and may not have noticed what it was) but did say that the ball changed direction at the last second.
The Raiders can hope to beat the Chargers in their game while the Chiefs’ next game is against the Titans on December 18.
