Redskins defensive back Josh Norman is talking about his former team the Carolina Panthers, again. Norman and the Redskins will take on the Panthers on Monday Night Football. You may remember this offseason, while still a member of the Panthers, Norman’s franchise tag was rescinded allowing him to become a free agent. Norman spoke to USA Today about his release and joining the Redskins, saying:
It almost felt like I was stabbed in the back. I was salty [after Carolina pulled the tender.] But, there is no animosity.
He continues:
My personality, who I am, probably doesn’t fit some people in that atmosphere with the Panthers. Here, you can button it down.
The Panthers are out of the playoff hunt, but Washington is still alive and will certainly need to win out and get some help to clinch a wild card spot. No doubt his old team will want to ruin any hopes he has of making the playoffs.
This game will be filled with a lot of emotions on both sides. For his part, Norman knows that and will be ready come Monday night, saying:
You guys know me better than anybody else and I’m pretty sure you know how this is going to go down. I’m going to come out fighting.
Let’s hope this is a good game and we get some fireworks between Norman and his former team.
