The Los Angeles Lakers will be laying their respective heads elsewhere after a long night of basketball whenever they are scheduled to play in New York. But not for political reasons.
According to a tweet by LA Times Lakers beat writer Tania Ganguli, the Lakers will no longer use Trump Tower during the season for the sake of security.
Due to security concerns, Lakers will no longer be staying at a Trump hotel in NY this week. Source stressed it isn’t a political statement.
President-Elect Trump is opting to make the Tower his primary residence while holding office. With the increased amount of Secret Service agents and security checks, not exactly the most comfortable place for a bunch of young basketball players.
And groupies everywhere rejoiced.
