Rookie hazing is tradition that should just downright disappear. The league has finally spoke up but yet, they’ve basically set guidelines on the rookie hazing in the MLB.
The Dodgers rookies weren’t the only ones who were seen dressed up like women. Hazing is going to happen in the brotherhood or sisterhood of whatever group you happen to choose. In the MLB, you’re running the risk of dressing up as a woman but now, future rookies can thank the league for this much needed change.
“Those kind of things which in our view were insensitive and potentially offensive to a number of groups,” MLB vice president Paul Misfud explained Monday, per Ronald Blum of the Associated Press.
This rule change was part of an Anti-Bullying initiative set forth by the league.
To say that it’s not funny is blasphemy but dressing up as a woman is a bit extreme. Personally, it’s a tad juvenile. Will we see more rookies tied up to poles like the Red Sox once did?

I wonder what ways teams will come up in order to haze their rookies. The idea of it being seen as harmless fun is understandable but this is an embarrassment. A couple of ball players have responded.
