While the Panthers may not be winning on the field, they have yet to fail their community.
This go round its DE Charles Johnson opening up affordable housing units today in Columbia, SC. The housing, Village at River’s Edge, has some strong powerhouses behind it that just aren’t NFL players. NBA powerhouses Kevin Garnett and Devean George have also decided to back the housing development which affords families in the area a safe place to live and a home they can be proud of. Reginald Barner, who teamed up with his business partner Johnson, are hoping to give the youth more experiences with the help go the Charles Johnson Foundation. Johnson has committed to hosting activities for the kids at the neighboring schools.
A lot of times we focus on the negative of sports from off the field issues to losing records, but stories like these need to be the forefront of it all. Players who dedicate not only their money, but their time to make sure they leave the world with something better.
