The topic of discussion has lately been Russell Westbrook’s triple-doubles. It’s a great achievement to many but to Westbrook, it doesn’t mean anything and it’s best you don’t bring it up anymore.
Russell Westbrook was on a hot streak when it came to his triple-doubles. It became an almost nightly stat on many sites. But little did we all know that he could quite frankly, careless about them. Westbrook spoke about the triple-double in a post-game conference and with no surprise, was extremely blunt about it.
“Honestly, man, people and this triple-double thing is kind of getting on my nerves, really,” Westbrook told reporters, according to Brett Dawson of NewsOK. “People think if I don’t get it, it’s like a big thing. When I do get it, it’s a thing. If y’all just let me play – if I get it, I get it. If I don’t, I don’t care. It is what it is. I really don’t care. For the hundredth time. I don’t care. All I care about is winning, honestly. All the numbers s— don’t mean nothing to me.”
Next time you want to ask him about his triple-doubles, just keep in mind that he might snap back.
