The NFL isn’t like the NBA.
You can’t just hog the ball and jack up shots for your stats. For a wide receiver your stats are specifically tied to your quarterback and I never met a wide receiver who didn’t think he was open.
So, is Antonio Brown any different from any other WR in the league? If this particular story is true via PFT, it isn’t a good look for him.
According to the report, after DeAngelo Williams scored the Steelers’ first touchdown in the AFC Championship Game, Brown was pouting while the rest of his teammates were celebrating because Brown wanted the ball to go to him, not Williams, on the play. And that’s not new: Last year, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin had to sit Brown down and tell him to stop chasing statistics, and that his only concern should be winning championships.
Brown looked like a lock to get a new deal this summer, but considering some of the comments by Mike Tomlin after the live streaming incident, it is possible the Steelers would at least listen to a trade over.
Also if you are Brown should you be offended someone is leaking this information true or not? Is it a player, coach or someone from the front office? It is obvious that either the info is being put out there to potentially lessen his contract demands or drum up some trade interest.
It is amazing how things can change in just a couple of weeks.
