How did we get here? First its Facebook and now his teammates are tired of him?
According to Ron Cook of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers need to look for more than a QB this offseason.
The Steelers had a roller coaster season and seem to can’t get on one accord. The team seems to be full of superstars, but stars that are having problems reaching the highest of their potential and staying there. The lack of consistency with this team is troubling and people are starting to look at what immediate changes can be made to turn this team around.
While it may seem everyone is unhappy with Brown, the feeling might be mutual. Word around town is that Brown didn’t like how he was being utilized and decided to run his own routes.
The distractions are a real problem. Brown’s three excessive celebrations penalties early in the season were bad enough. But there was the incident in the first Miami game when he jogged back to the line of scrimmage, delaying his teammates from running their 2-minute offense. In more than one game, when he wasn’t happy with how he was being used, he frequently ran the wrong patterns, either because of a lack of focus or — worse — intentionally. It happened a week ago in the AFC championship. That’s inexcusable.
Is Brown really that unhappy? Its rare to see a Steeler going against the team; they hype themselves up so much. What’s really going on?
Even though the offseason is upon us, Im sure we will hear more soon.
