It doesn’t feel like it, but franchise quarterback Andrew Luck will turn 28 next fall. While he still has plenty of time left in this league, the Colts feel the pressure to win now before it’s too late.
For example, no one ever foresaw Peyton Manning leaving for Denver and yes, Luck is under contract until 2022, but there’s no telling how much more losing he can take or hits for that matter.
Under general manager Ryan Grigson, the Colts experienced success during the first three seasons, winning 33 regular season games, three playoff games, and made a trip to the 2014 AFC Championship game.
However, the Colts have missed the playoffs the past two seasons, which is totally unacceptable for a franchise of this caliber, especially when owner Jim Irsay believes they should win multiple championships in the Luck era.
Colts have relieved GM Ryan Grigson of his duties, league source tells ESPN.

For as great as Luck has been, there haven’t been many quarterbacks in the league who have been hit more than the former Stanford standout. This has been an issue ever since Luck was drafted and for some reason, Grigson wasn’t able to fix it.
Sometimes change isn’t necessary, but in the case of Indy, this was a move that had to be made. You can only remain stagnant for so long.
