If Omarosa ever feels alone as black woman in support of Trump, a visit to Howard University will prove she’s not alone.
According to PBS Newshour the Republicans group, which has been absent from campus for the past 10 years, organized and reinstated the school’s chapter in the past year. Appearing as a blip on the Republican party radar, Leah Le’Vell of the RNC’s African American Strategic Initiatives Team visited the HU campus and presented the group a check from Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus for $2000.
Le’vell, a former student advisor to the National Diversity Coalition for Trump, believes there are numerous black Americans who vote Republican but live in fear of persecution.
“Social media’s super popular these days and there’s so much persecution,” Le’Vell said. “And so people often don’t say who they publicly align with.”
College campuses exist as not only institutions of higher learning but operate as bastions for a variety of beliefs. Whether or not you share their opinions, the group is exercising their right to assemble and organize.
