Fox 5 Atlanta reported that Falcons offensive lineman Andy Levitre’s wife, Katie, went into labor during Saturday’s playoff win against the Seahawks. The interesting thing is Katie was in the stands during the game and stayed until the end. Talk about dedication to the cause. Andy said:
My wife went into labor right before the game started. She came to the game and sat through the game while she was in labor. [After the game] I went and showered up, came outside we went home for like an hour, went to the hospital and then she gave birth.
Seems like Katie was well prepared and knew how to handle the situation. Anyone familiar with the process knows labor can take several hours. If everything is comfortable and there is no danger, women can do a lot of different things during labor. Congrats to the Levitre’s, this will be a story their new daughter Lily Gene can tell when she’s older.
