The Wildcats have suffered a great lose today. sophomore, Jordan Hankins has been found deceased in her room at the university on Monday afternoon. The statement from spokesman Carsten Parmenter said there is no indication of foul play or “any danger or threat to other members of the Northwestern community.”
Jordan was recruited out of Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis, where she was All-Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference (MIC) First Team honoree as a junior and was averaging 12 points and 3 steals per game. She was also a member of the National honor Society. At NU, Hawkins had a career high of 14 points and played great games against Alcorn State and Western Michigan via NUSports.com.
“This is a devastating loss for our basketball family. She brought an unwavering intensity and commitment to everything in her life. We will miss her enormously,” Northwestern coach Joe McKeown stated.
Jordan’s body will be examined by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office to determine the nature and cause of her death.
