This isn’t surprising.
Dallas hadn’t been in the Super Bowl in over 20 years and with the Houston being a mere 4 hour drive away, Cowboys Fans were chomping at the bit to get tickets.
They don’t have to worry about that now.
Before Sunday’s playoff game, the cheapest ticket to Super Bowl LI on StubHub was $4,195. Shortly after the Cowboys were defeated 34-31 on a field goal as time ran out, the get-in price was down 20 percent to $3,349. Tickets in the lower end zone dropped 18 percent to $4,307.
Patrick Ryan, co-founder of Eventellect, a Houston-based ticket distribution company said the money floating around Houston, without the Cowboys fans, will also drop.
“Tickets to all the major parties will come down in value, as there will be fewer fans, in general, coming to town to experience the Super Bowl festivities,” Ryan said.
$3k is nothing to sneeze at, but it is better than $4k, so if you are a fan of the other teams still in contention, consider yourself lucky.
