Medical update (2/2):
•Simmons minor foot procedure to stimulate bone growth, accelerate healing. Likely to resume training by end of week.— Philadelphia 76ers (@sixers) February 27, 2017
The procedure was to inject bone marrow to “stimulate bone growth and accelerate healing” according to a Sixers injury release. Simmons is expected to return to “normal training” by weeks end.
Philadelphia got off a thrilling start to ring in the new year. Their fans daydreamed about sneaking into the playoffs at one point. The future despite these injuries look bright in Philly. With Simmons on the shelf, and as we outlined earlier, Embiid should be joining him. They have their own 1st round pick which should fall somewhere in the Top 8 and have the possibility of first round selections from the Lakers (must be outside of the Top 3 choices) and Kings (must be outside of the Top 10 choices).
