Keeping the Bengal tradition alive. This time it’s ex-Bengal Jerome Schaffer caught up in the law.
WCPO report Schaffer has been charged with charged with assault, breaking and entering and public indecency. He attacked a 61 yr old man and proceeded to go to a church nearby.
Witnesses saw him lying in the church parking lot, Lois Kidd said and when her nephew, Chad Pace went over and he stood up and exposed himself.
Pace was worried about his sons safety and got out of the way and Schaffer went inside the building.
Here’s what Pace had to say about the strange encounter,
“He looked very sweaty and red and very just aggravated, so I said, ‘Are you alright?’ He got down like a frog, put his rear on his heels and said, ‘I’ve never been better,'” Pace said. “The state that this man was in was nothing I could ever see (as) something that just comes out of you out of an emotion.”
After, he went inside and started jumping on chairs and talking to employees, Kidd said he went into the sanctuary saying he beat up a guy and wants to repent.
911 was called to the scene and Schaffer was promptly removed.
Schaffer last played for Bengals in 2014. He was placed on injury reserve due to multiple concussions.
Watch as Schaffer sits in a county jail and hears the charges against him. He makes some weird jokes about his attorney.
He clearly needs help and hopefully gets it because this could be the first in a string of incidents to come.
