Warriors co-owner Joe Lacob appeared on 95.7 The Game in San Francisco and relayed a story about the time he and Hornets owner Michael Jordan were out drinking. The GOAT took a jab at Lacob’s Warriors and their 73 win season. Lacob said:
There was a moment where he said, ‘You know, ’73 don’t mean [blank].’ He did it. Michael Jordan did that. And I looked at him and I just decided not to make a big deal of it. I said, you know, you’re right, we didn’t win it, we had to get better.
Jordan is the most ruthless competitors we have ever seen in sports. He is also petty and holds grudges like no other. The pettiness and grudges fuel his competitive spirit. You know Jordan got immense pleasure from sticking it to Lacob. The Dubs may have the wins record but Jordan’s Bulls won 72 and the chip. That gives him the trump card. If Lacob wasn’t afraid he would’ve shot back with, “and how many chips do the Hornets have?!”
