The Boston Celtics are in Brooklyn tonight on St. Patrick’s Day to take on the Nets. The Celtics are 43-25 and 2.5 games behind the Cleveland Cavaliers for top spot in the eastern conference. Rookie forward Jaylen Brown has been a key contributor for the squad on the defensive end, and offensively he is spacing the floor and knocking down open threes.
Jaylen spoke to the media ahead of tonight’s game. During the scrum he talked about his ability to play high level defense and who the toughest covers in the NBA are. Jaylen says because of his size Kevin Durant is a difficult matchup and DeMar DeRozan’s ability to get to his spot in the midrange make him tough to guard as well. One of the challenges of playing at the NBA level Jaylen says is how good every player is. A point often missed by a lot of fans and casual observers. The league only has 450 players and it draws talent from all over the world. You have to be an excellent basketball player to make it at this level, and the Celtics rookie is finding that out and is equipping himself well in his first season.
The Celtics will be headed to the playoffs and Brown will be playing basketball for a longer stretch of time than he is used to, but says he is ready.
