That’s right, Georges St-Pierre is returning to the UFC and his first step back in the Octagon will be for UFC gold.
Oddly enough, his return fight won’t be for the welterweight title he never actually lost, but for the middleweight title fans have wanted him to chase for nearly a decade. The current champion, Michael Bisping, has earned his spot on top of the division, but a fight four years ago against a prime Anderson Silva would’ve been much better. As they say, “can’t cry over spilled milk,” and the MMA world must move on.
UFC President Dana White is doing just that by setting up this middleweight title fight.
When discussing why he chose to pair GSP up against Michael Bisping, Dana White made it clear that it’s because fighters feel it’s the easy fight… Zing!
the worst part is that he’s right. Bisping struggled to defeat a 44-year-old Dan Henderson in his last title defense and GSP will have a lot more skills at his disposal when he steps in the Octagon.
