In honor of the Black Panther Party legacy the SEPIA Collective has produced a multi-city fine art exhibition that features original Panther’s work combined with local and internationally recognized artists who maintain the fight for equality. After several stops around the United States, the exhibit is finally headed to Los Angeles.
ICONIC: Black Panther will open at Gregorio Escalante Gallery on April 8 and run until May 14. The Black Panthers have inspired an entire generation of people, and artists of every race, nationality and creed are honoring them in this exhibit. The LA edition of Iconic will feature work by Emory Douglas, Shepard Fairey, Pilar Aguero-Esparza, Aise Bourne, Justin Dixon, Mark Steven Greenfield, F. Scott Hess, Dr. Samella Lewis, Ali AL Sharji, Mohammed Mubarak, Tslil Tsemet, Lexx Valdez, and over two dozen more.
The exhibit will officially kick off on April 8 from 7 – 10pm with a reception that’s free to the public. Expect some of the Panthers in attendance.
