We won’t be seeing NBA players flocking to the White House like in years past under the Obama administration. President Obama is a noted huge Chicago Bulls fans. Jimmy Butler, Shooting Guard for the Bulls, decided he’d pay President Obama a visit twice. Both times he wore Jordans to the festivities and explained why:
I went to the White House twice. I went once with the team where I wore the Pantone 11s with an all black suit and then the most recent time I went was when it was just me chatting with Obama for a little bit. I wore some black and red 1s. There’s not a lot of debate in my head, but people we’re telling me don’t wear Jordans to the White House, when you talk to Obama call him Mr. President or stuff like that. I’m like, i’m just going to be me, i’m not going to change because i’m in the White House. So i wore my sneakers and it was me. He did (Obama) notice and he said he liked the sneakers.
This was his first appearance at the White House as he alluded to:
The Chicago Air Jordan 1s are the holy grail of sneakers for myself. A man of great taste such as President Obama would definitely be able to appreciate this sentiment.
Butler is a huge sneaker head. He hit on topics which range from his favorite sneakers to play ball in, going against Michael Jordan one-on-one and to one day having his own line of sneakers. You can check it all out in the video below.
