LaVar Ball is in his own world of projecting his son’s future NBA success. Everyone has an opinion on him. Right or wrong he’s his son’s biggest believer. Roy Jones Jr seems to be joining that wave in lending praise to his son as well. His son, Roy Jones III, is a Junior in High School. He joined TMZ Sports and gave off some LaVar Ball vibes when discussing his son’s NBA prospects.
I’m not like Mr. Ball and say he’s one of the best players in the NBA. He’s better than Steph Curry, he’s better than Kyrie. I ain’t going that far. But he does want to play on that level one day and knowing what I know, I think he can play on that level. It’s just a matter of time before he gets there.
He would go on to note two schools in particular interested in his son. Perhaps there are more which he couldn’t think of in the moment but he referenced Air Force and Army. Both schools aren’t elite programs by any stretch or middle of the pack for that matter. As a junior in high school there’s still a ton of time for us to know whether he can or wont be a viable NBA prospect. Some will say it adds pressure to his child and may see this as self serving. Personally, I am a fan of Roy Jones Jr putting out the hype on his son and believing in his abilities.
