The good news is Hassan Childs is going to live after being shot three times in the chest.
The bad news is the cops believe the shooting was justifiable and arrested Childs at the hospital.
South Florida defensive back Hassan Childs, recovering from three gun shot wounds, was reportedly arrested in the hospital Monday after being involved in a road-rage incident off campus on Saturday night.
The 22-year-old, who is in stable condition, is facing three counts of aggravated assault and one count of misdemeanor possession of marijuana, according to multiple reports.
On Saturday around 11:15 p.m., Tampa police received a phone call from Jovanni Jimenez, 26, who told the cops that a man had pointed a gun at him, his wife and child at the Eagles Point Apartments at Tampa Palms.
Jimenez said he then took out a gun and shot the man in self defense. The man was later identified as Childs, who was hit three times in the torso and upper arm.
Both men had concealed weapons permits. There is no word on why Childs pulled his gun, I’d imagine his story is a little different from Jimenez’s version, but the cops believe Jimenez at the moment.
