TMZ has learned that Cavs guard J.R. Smith’s premature daughter Dakota took a major stride on her way to long term health. Dakota took her first bottle over the weekend before the Cavs opening playoff game versus the Pacers. As you may remember, Dakota was born five months early and weighed only one pound.
Smith, his wife Jewel, and Dakota have been going through a lot and are not out of the woods yet. But this latest news is another in a string of wins for Team Smith. Dakota was taken off the breathing machine last month, and has been steadily gaining weight since. Being able to feed without the assistance of a tube is huge.
J.R. posted about the experience — “My boo got her first bottle today! #proudofyoubaby #kotastrong.” We are all rooting for Dakota, J.R. and Jewel.
