The hopes of many Knicks fans of maybe seeing Patrick Ewing as their head coach continues to get slimmer by the day. There is a new report suggesting that he has interviewed for the head coach position at Georgetown.
Before you guys fire back, Jeff Hornacek has done a pretty good job this season although the team’s record does not suggest that. From Derrick Rose’s knee to the continuous woes of not being able to hold on to the lead, this Knicks season is one that is almost over. But, one ex-Knicks legend and also Georgetown legend Patrick Ewing might be ready to move on from his position with the Hornets to perhaps head coaching for his alma mater.
A few sources are saying that Ewing has interviewed for the head coach job.
It was reported last month that the Hoyas were interested in interviewing Ewing for the gig, but that has now reportedly become a reality as the program looks to end its current slump.
After missing the last two NCAA tournaments, the school fired John Thompson III in mid-March, son of legendary coach John Thompson Jr.
Ewing is quite possibly a pretty great candidate for the job considering that he’s been an assistant coach in the NBA for quite some time now. We’ll have to stay tuned for this announcement.
