Recently, we brought you this disturbing story showing a rude Uber rider completely disrespecting, and even worse, threatening to falsely accuse the driver of raping & assaulting her:
Props are definitely in order for the driver for keeping his cool while dealing with this poor excuse of a woman, and fortunately he was recording the incident. Chances are if he hadn’t he’d be locked up without any delay.
Uber has seen the video and banned the rider, and because the driver not having a phone charger was the whole reason the passenger flipped out; Uber is sending the driver a lifetime supply of phone chargers for his troubles.
Here’s an update via The Daily Mail
As a token of Uber’s appreciation, the driver says the company gave him a ‘lifetime supply’ of various phone chargers after the belligerent passenger complained he didn’t have one for her to use.
‘I bet I will never have a problem of a charger anymore’, he says with a smile as he empties the phone charges from a black bag onto the passenger seat.
He adds that they commended him for recording the incident because it will change how they will resolve issues with customers who report allegations against drivers to the police.
In the shocking dashcam video of the altercation Monday in the Bronx, New York, an unidentified woman can be heard shouting from the backseat: ‘I’m going to start screaming out the window that you’re raping me, that you raped me.
‘I will punch myself in the face and tell the cops you did it. You wanna play?’
The driver repeatedly asks her to leave the car as she screams racial slurs in his direction.
An Uber spokesman told MailOnline: ‘The behaviour in this video is abusive and completely unacceptable.
‘As our Community Guidelines make clear, this will not be tolerated by anyone who uses Uber. The rider’s account has been banned and Uber is looking into this incident.’
I wonder how many phone chargers that is exactly?
Uber also sent the unnamed driver an undisclosed amount of cash. The driver also went online to post a follow-up video after dealing with the woman:The quote he concludes the video with should be law for all Uber drivers for sure:
‘I got a message for every single Uber driver out there: You better invest in a f***ing dashcam, bro, ’cause bein’ an Uber driver is putting your life in jeopardy if you don’t have a dashcam. … It could save your life. It saved my life, bro,’ he says.
It’s almost like, as a Black man; the only way to clear your name, remain safe, and prove you were unarmed if you happen to be shot down by law enforcement is to have a camera on you at all times.
Yes, it’s as exhausting as it sounds.
