The NBA released the All-NBA teams on Thursday and Paul George didn’t make any of the three teams. What that means is, Indiana can’t give him the player exception and an extra $30M in salary. Why does that matter? Teams looking to add the all-star forward can offer him the max without worrying about Indiana being able to offer more. A Blazers fan tweeted a photo of Damian Lillard and PG together with the caption “Let’s make this happen” and Dame retweeted.
No doubt Dame would love to get PG to Portland but this would have to be a trade and what do the Blazers have to give up? They’d most certainly have to part with C.J. McCollum, is that wise? Also, what guarantee is there that PG would sign long term in Portland? He has stated numerous times he wants to play for the Los Angeles Lakers. Nice dream Blazers fan, but this is highly unlikely.
