Doug Martin is looking to make his NFL return after a four game suspension during the late 2016 season for violating the NFL Substance Abuse Policy, but after a car crash this afternoon, making sure he’s in perfect physical and mental health maybe the forefront of his mind.
According to Tampa Bay police reports, Martin may have only sustained minor cuts and bruises, the details of the crash would make you think how he walked away with just that. He’s a lucky guy.
Doug Martin was traveling eastbound on Azeele Street. The driver of a black Kia traveling southbound on Habana ran the stop sign and collided with Martin’s black BMW in the middle of the intersection. After striking Martin’s vehicle, the Kia left the roadway and hit an air conditioning unit outside of a local business. Martin received minor cuts and bruises as a result of the crash. Tampa Police officers responded to the scene and cited the driver of the Kia for committing a stop sign violation.
Tampa Bay times and NFL writer, Greg Auman, stated that Martin was doing fine despite the damaging details of the accident.
Bucs RB Doug Martin is "fine" after car accident today, I'm told. Needed four stitches after getting a cut on his chin but otherwise OK.
