Josh Smith, a wide receiver at the University of Tennessee, was arrested on Saturday for assault.
According to Bleacher Report, the incident took place Friday night between Smith and his friend Kennedy Foster. At their off-campus apartment Smith broke down the door to his room, went inside and began to scuffle with Foster.
Sources report Foster stating after the incident, “We fought, and he got the better side.”
While no further information is available about what led up to the altercation, Smith’s attorney took to twitter to issue statements on the incident maintaining that the two men are friends and no further action will be needed.

Smith and his roommate, Kennedy Foster, have been long-time friends; they share an off-campus house. The fight occurred Friday night.

Smith is a 6-foot-1, 213-pound senior wide receiver for the Volunteers. Throughout his time in Knoxville, Smith has recorded 58 catches for 721 yards and five touchdowns. He is expected to be a key contributor for the Tennessee offense during the 2017 college football season, despite missing spring practice due to injury.
