Jalen Rose took the time to chat with us and we covered an array of topics. We spoke a little bit about everything and including his start in the broadcast field, the 2017 NBA Finals, as well as some Nas and Jay Z.
One name that comes to mind when it comes rising former NBA players that turned into sportscasters is Jalen Rose. Rose tells it like it is and is more hands on than meets the eye. How does he manage to run his shows NBA Countdown and Jalen and Jacoby Show, and even continue to be heavily involved in his charity work? As he currently holds down the longest tenure on Countdown, time management is important.
In an exclusive interview with Black Sports Online, Rose even touched the heavy topic of whether or not this year’s NBA playoffs are boring. NBA Countdown will be on the road for the Finals so you won’t miss your favorite hosts.
ESPN will take NBA Countdown and The Jump – its two signature NBA shows – on the road for on-site programming throughout the series. NBA Countdown host Michelle Beadle, working her first NBA Finals, will be joined by veteran analyst Jalen Rose and two former NBA Finals MVPs – Chauncey Billups and guest analyst Paul Pierce – for pregame and halftime shows. NBA Countdown will start one hour before most games, with the first 30 minutes airing on ESPN and then 30 minutes airing on ABC leading into tipoff. Five-time NBA Champion Kobe Bryant will also unveil his latest short video presentation in his Canvas series during the pregame show.
