There are 32 teams in the NFL.
At the start of training camp there will be around 100+ quarterbacks on NFL rosters.
By week 1 there will be at least 70 quarterbacks signed for the season.
Since the start of free agency 18 quarterbacks have been signed to NFL teams. Some of those quarterbacks include.
Blaine Gabbert, EJ Manuel, Aaron Murray and the infamous David Fales.
One of the many lame excuses that have been given about why Colin Kaepernick hasn’t been signed is because he is asking for too much money and a chance to start.
The problem with that excuse is it isn’t true, the reason being, Kaepernick has never even been contacted by one team to even have a brief discussion about what he is looking for.
The Big Lead has quotes from two NFL writers who confirm Kaepernick, who did not have a bad season last year considering he came off three surgeries and was on an awful team, hasn’t been contacted at all.
First we have Tim Kawakami.
A source tells me that Kaepernick to this point has had no serious talks with any team about a contract and has had no meetings, which means he has not demanded a starting role or a $10M salary or a $5M salary or any of the other things circulating among the NFL gossip mill recently.
There is zero evidence that any team has come anywhere close to signing Kaepernick, and a source close to Kaepernick told me yesterday that they have not discussed even general money terms with anybody this offseason.
And Kaepernick is not demanding a guaranteed starting role. How could he if he hasn’t had a single serious conversation with a team?
From Charles Robinson.
And thus far, not one NFL source has been able to confirm to Yahoo Sports any number that Kaepernick is looking for in terms of contract price or even structure. In turn, not even one NFL team is confirmed to have had any financial talks with Kaepernick. By all accounts, the financial barrier to Kaepernick landing with a team appears to be bogus at this stage.
Kaepernick is being blackballed and there is a simple reason why teams won’t talk to him.
If they did talk to him and he said he would be willing to accept a lesser role and contract, how could they justify signing someone like TJ Yates.
It is collusion on the highest level and some in the media are helping the owners agenda because either their head is in the sand or they secretly feel some type of way about Kaepernick helping black people.
The excuses and downright lies by people like Peter King makes you wonder how they really feel about the issues Kaepernick is working on. I heard a reporter say Blaine Gabbert is a better fit for Cardinals. When you are a bad quarterback it is like being a poorly built man. It doesn’t matter if you have the greatest tailor in the world if you are built like a penguin it isn’t going to help.
Never forget the mainstream sports media is 90% white males and they are the ones who are helping spread this message. It really isn’t that dissimilar from what is happening at the White House right now, so just let that sink in, if you aren’t in your sunken place.
