Zion Wade and Chris Paul II, the sons of NBA stars and banana boat friends, Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul respectively are teaming up for a new kids stat show. In an apparent partnership with software company SAP, Zion and Lil Chris do an excellent job making stats so easy a 9-year-old or 8-year-old could understand.
Being the sons of NBA players give the younger Wade and Paul many advantages in life. Should they be able to pursue an on court career they are better equipped than most to do so. But if on court isn’t in the cards it looks like broadcasting could work for the young duo.
This is actually good for the kids of young NBA players. In every other industry in the world, if a child decides to follow their parents footsteps that parent often gives them a leg up. Why shouldn’t that extend to the world of sports media. Wade and Paul aren’t in the media (yet) but their sons are basically growing up in the NBA. They have an intimate experience with the league that could serve them well in a media career.
