Unified middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin doesn’t mince words when asked to evaluate Canelo Alvarez recent performance against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Despite Canelo’s complete dominance from the beginning to end, GGG was not impressed with his standing between rounds and believes the fight makes it clear that he has no power.
During an appearance on TMZ sports to discuss their September fight date, Golovkin is asked his opinion on Canelo standing up between rounds to demonstrate his power and conditioning to which he calls “fake.”
“It’s fake. If he really have energy and power, show me in the next round.”
Golovkin goes on to say Canelo stands between rounds to show his muscles to the girls. Funny stuff.
