I wrote about how Colin Kaepernick compared the cops to slave patrols. I spoke how when you are black literally just being black is justification in a cop’s mind to execute you.
When they do, they pull out every racial stereotype in the book to justify their murders and sadly juries and prosecutors allow those excuses to fly because they have that same fear of black people.
Just look at the reasons Yanzez uses to murder Philando Castile.
“I thought, I was gonna die and I thought if he’s, if he has the, the guts and the audacity to smoke marijuana in front of the five-year-old girl and risk her lungs and risk her life by giving her secondhand smoke and the front seat passenger doing the same thing then what, what care does he give about me,” Yanez told the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
The officer, claiming Castile’s “wide set nose” had seemed to match up with that of an armed robbery suspect, also speculated that Castile’s firearm possession might be linked to the marijuana smell.
“Being that … the inside of the vehicle smelled like marijuana um I didn’t know if he was keeping it on him for protection, for, from a, a drug dealer or anything like that,” he said.
How can you read that and not be sick to your stomach?
White people smoke weed and cigarettes in front of their kids all day (by the way Castile was not smoking in the car), do you think a cop would automatically jump to the conclusion that means they are willing to kill them during a routine traffic stop where the person politely tells them they have a legal gun?
The cop uses the word “audacity” but doesn’t think it is an issue to fire 7 shots in a car with a little girl in the car?
So, because he had a legal gun and you smelled weed, you thought he was a drug dealer? Once again if this was a white man, first off he would have never been stopped for a wide nose and I doubt drug dealer would have been in his thoughts.
This was simply a cop who had no reason being a cop because he couldn’t even handle a routine traffic stop (and illegal one at that) with a black man in the car.
The dashcam footage which is graphic and you can flip the page for, shows that Castile was the only professional in this situation, but his killer is free because he is protected by his badge.
But, you want to be mad at Kaepernick?
