Is Coach Cal thinking about leaving Kentucky?
According to sources at ESPN, Coach Cal has reached out to the Knicks to inquire about their recent vacancy in president of operations. Unfortunately, the Knicks don’t share the same feelings and aren’t looking at the famed NCAA coach as their next hire.
The Knicks are looking to rebuild their franchise after a three-year stunt with Phil Jackson, which according to fans, was possibly the worst decision the Knicks have made… recently – probably since yesterday (sorry Knick fans). GM Steve Mills has taken over the duties as president. The Knicks are looking to target, Raptors President, Masai Ujiri, who recently just signed a five-year deal. Knicks are looking for a battle if they are looking to snatch him away.
But wait, you’re right, Coach Cal is knee-deep into a contract with Kentucky… right? You are correct. Coach Cal is signed with Kentucky until 2024, making $8 million per year and steady rising his star as one of the best coaches in college basketball. Good note is that Coach Cal is familiar with presidential responsibilities – for 3 years, Coach Cal was the head coach and Executive VP of Basketball Operations with the New York Nets.
Should the Knicks look into Coach Cal?
