The Dallas Cowboys, America’s team “allegedly”, are the most valuable sports franchise for the second straight year according to Forbes. The Cowboys are worth a whopping $4.2 billion, which dwarfs the massive New York Yankee franchise which comes in at second, valued at $3.7 billion. The big three soccer powers round out the top five; Manchester United ($3.69 billion), Barcelona (3.64 billion), and Real Madrid (3.58 billion).
The Cowboys have always been one of the most valuable teams in sports since Jerry Jones purchased the franchise in 1989, not only due to their success, but also because of Jones’ knack to seemingly always keep his team relevant regardless of what happens on the field. After the Cowboys 14-2 season last year, their stock seems to only be rising.
