The Kings and Lakers had a bit of a rivalry in the early 2000s. The rivalry may be revived with both teams selecting top point guards in last month’s draft. The Kings decided to up the ante and troll some “diehard” Lakers fans at summer league. A member of the Kings media team is seen asking Lakers fans questions about two “under the radar” rookies, Shawn Carter and Ned Stark. The responses from these so-called fans are too funny.
Shawn Carter of course is Jay Z and Ned Stark is a fictional character from the immensely popular HBO prestige drama Game of Thrones. This stuff is hilarious. These types of bits are common, most often done on Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show. What is it about people that they knowingly lie about things they are unsure about? I get it. Taps into our need as humans to belong and be in the know, and also our natural inclination as humans to avoid admitting we don’t know something.
