Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics are nearing a trade deal that will involve All-Star point guards Kyrie Irving and Isaiah Thomas going opposite ways according to ESPN.com.
The details are still being worked out but as the deal works to completion, the names included in the talks are Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas and forward Jae Crowder. It could also include some Celtics draft picks. Boston center Ante Zizic has also been discussed as part of the deal, league sources said. The two sides were still working out the details of the parts to a potential trade.
It’s no secret that Kyrie Irving has been seeking a trade away from Cleveland after meeting with management in July, and stating that he no longer wants to play with LeBron James.
Irving still has three years and $60 million left on his contract. However, Celtic star Isaiah Thomas was only made aware of the possible trade from Boston to Cleveland on Tuesday.
